My name is Sepideh, I’m 28 years old. Swiss artist with deep persian roots. 

Basically, my art should not be the focus here.

I have written a statement several times before, but it never seemed to be the ultimate and unfiltered truth. One should not be negative, but also not too «fake» enthusiastic. I do have a statement now, because I have arrived at the place where my striving has brought me.

This was not the last milestone, of course not. That would be boring. However, it is a significant milestone for me. I had to use «reverse psychology» to lead myself back to the origin of why I make art and design in the first place. YES, I have ideas, we all do. What moves you to approach expression, however, comes from a deeper place.

My longing for contrast is very clearly reflected in my works. It took a long time to consciously observe my inner shadow side, in order to decipher what was going on inside me through my works, because they are the unsweetened expression of my inner reality and my inner perspective. By now, light and shadow harmonize within me. I now accept that vivid colours, artistic line art, and traces of controversially dark elements are part of my inner life. Not everything is black and white; there is an enormous grey field of which we know little to nothing, and I, I like to wander around in it in search of my true, authentic self.

Art, therefore, is a by-product of this endless journey, as is everything learned, everything said, everything written, and everything created.

Chaos as much as harmony in the eyes of those who are willing to see it.

I live for my self-discovery.

Everything else that emerges from it will probably inspire or help someone out there to see and love themselves and this world unfiltered.
